DMCA / Copyright Policy
Last updated: October 2026
NightVault respects the intellectual property rights of others and operates in good faith to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512 et seq.
Designated agent
Copyright notices may be sent to our designated agent at:
- Email: contact@nightvault.org
Filing a takedown notice
If you believe content linked from NightVault infringes your copyright, send a written notice containing all of the following:
- The physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with a specific URL on NightVault sufficient for us to locate it;
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
What we do with a valid notice
Upon receiving a notice that meets these requirements, NightVault will remove or disable access to the linked material and take reasonable steps to prevent the link from being re-posted. Because this site is a link directory and does not host video files itself, removal of a link is the equivalent of removing the infringing material.
Counter notification
If you believe the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location on NightVault before removal;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and
- Your name, address, telephone number, and consent of your jurisdiction’s court, together with a statement that you will accept service of process from the agent who filed the original notice.
After receiving a compliant counter notification, we may restore the link within 10–14 business days unless the copyright owner indicates they intend to file court action.
Repeat infringers
In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), NightVault reserves the right to terminate access for users or sources that are found repeatedly to infringe, in appropriate circumstances.
